Wolfgang Lechner

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lechner finished his PhD in Physics in 2009 at the University of Vienna and after PostDocs in Amsterdam and Innsbruck became professor in 2016. He is best known for the invention of the LHZ architecture (which is also the foundation for ParityQC) and received multiple awards for his research, amongst others the Google Research Faculty Award (2020), Houska Prize (2019), START Prize (2017), Thirring Prize (2017), Loschmidt Prize (2010). In 2020 he founded ParityQC and, besides his work at ParityQC, he also leads a research group focused on Quantum Computing at the University of Innsbruck. Wolfgang Lechner has published over 50 papers and 12 patents in the field of Quantum Computing.
